Nova Friburgo

Nova Friburgo has textile mills but is best known as a summer mountain resort built in Swiss Alpine style. It can be reached by railroad and highway from Niter�i, southwest, and from Rio de Janeiro, the state capital. Pop. (1991 prelim.) mun., 166,941.
